Re: Updated seed lists

Cactus Hobby Brno has also been updated. See: http://www.cactus-hobby.eu/sem_11_2018.html Lot's of interesting frost tolerant succulents. I could not resist some of the Ancistrocactus and Tephrocactus. Hi Aiko I am considering buying some seeds from this seller - Do you recommend them? Thanks :D

T. spachianus info?

Paper towel method

Hi

Just wondering, has anyone had success with the paper towel method for germinating seeds?
I'm thinking about using it for some trichocereus seeds.

Thanks :D

Fastest seeds?

Hi all Does anyone know what is the fastest vertically growing cactus from seed? Would it be some kind of cereus? Or an opuntia? I know different individual plants will grow faster/slower than others, but if someone could point me in a general direction, that would be much appreciated. Thanks :D :D :D

Re: Purple cactus ID

Looks like thelocactus bicolour to me, the purple could be from strong light or temperature or something but it seems perfectly healthy. There's some other variations of it, I have thelocactus bicolour v. Tricolour whatever that means but I don't know if that makes a difference when it comes to ski...

Purple cactus ID

Hi! Could someone please ID this purple cactus for me? (The purple on the body is a little hard to see) From memory, someone told me it was a Thelocactus bicolour, but none I saw online had the same colour Or have I burned it? Re: Propagation of asterias from seed

G'morning GK23, Variegated asterias need softer sunlight compared to normal ones to minimise sunburn problem. It will be around 1000 lumens. (Full sun is 2000 lumens) You can graft a seedling 2 days after germination but if you want to get a good success rate, 2~3 months old seedling should be graf...
