Re: Selenicereus anthonyanus
Hi Dave. Thanks for the info and links. The fishbone never flowered, though I have had it for a number of years. Probably not enough light. Some of the cladodes are almost a meter long. The other will have to be Selenocerius sp or S. vagan aff. (if I can do such a thing.) It also has nebver flowered...

Selenicereus anthonyanus
Hi all. Is Selenicereus anthonyanus the only one with a "fishbone" leaf structure? I am finally getting around to getting IDs for all my un-named plants. One that I am pretty sure is Selenicereus vagans has lots of arial roots. It even stuck on a wall. Is this behavior consistent with S. v...

Re: Which Cacti for Autumn Sowing?
Good point George. I basically grow outdoors, but under a covered patio or outdoor windowsill. Larger plants are moved to outdoor locations, I do not use the baggie method - I get too much rot and too much loss when I open the bag, but am quite happy with just sowing and keeping the medium moist til...

Which Cacti for Autumn Sowing?
I have a hard time getting clear on which cacti may be good for autumn sowing and then gouing through a cold bu frost-free winter. I am actually trying to compile a reference list. For example, I know Ferocactus and Echinocactus need heat to germinate and grow, and have been very successful in plant...
