I agree with CP,it´s a polythele

I think it´s polythele var obconella ,,,the diference with the nornal form are that has longger spines

Also there´s two more var..polythele nuda(no spines) ,and polythele durispina(harder spines )

The astrophytums only open the flowers for two days ,sometimes one day really ,

But astrophytum open the flower when sun it´s really hot ,about two or three o´clock,,,

Myriostigma always open earlier ,but asterias later on

Capricorne sometimes it´s full open until the sun goes down

Mike,it´s quite normal a confusion with these plants ,they are really similar without flowers

I think it´s schwarzii,because glassi should have little hooked yellow central spines ,tiny spines


The schwarzii it´s like a smooth hair ,I hope this could help you to diferenciate them

It,s a bad new ,even more when they kwow seed are from cultivated plants

But these things sometimes hapeens ,I,ve sent a lot of seeds and plants to another countries and only once get intercepted by customs in Venezuela

Hello everyone

I suposse most of us like ,all the cactus ,or don´t dislike any genus ,but everyone has his preferences

Astrophytum are my favorite genus ,and in second place mammillarias ,lophophoras and turbinicarpus are the next one
