Re: Help with Tanquana and Pleiospilos needed
I use a pure mineral mix for my pleiospilos but do include cat litter the baked clay kind so there is some 'soil' albeit hardened so nor pure stones. It is also in a plastic pot and grows well. Re: Worried about my titanopsis
Try a looser soil mix. I grow mine in pure mineral so no organics to attract fungi or hold moisture for too long they seem to enjoy a bit of a struggle with finding nutrients the roots get much bigger which makes for a stronger plant.

Re: Cold hardiness of Opuntia Ficus Indica
I live in wales uk so temperatures get much lower than 18°f I keep mine outside most of the year. It is on a relatively dry outside windowsill from about the end of January until April when I put it out in the open up the garden. It will stay there until probably October maybe even November subject ...

Re: ID request
Yeah as much as delivery prices are poor on ebay there are very few local sources of cacti in south wales just your typical garden centres and ikea type shops. Ebay has proven a great source for me as travel to bcss cacti fairs would end up costing me more. It not just travel cost you end up paying ...

I would have thrown my money at them for that price. I just paid 16 US dollars including p&p via ebay for a pair each about half the size of that one.

Re: Cupped or Curled Pads
If it's rooted leave it be. You are obviously done it right if the others are growing normally just give it time and it will start growing new pads. Dont worry about which way up the curve is once it has grown the pad will have corked and gone hard like wood anyway so it will not really affect its h...

Re: Cactus for identification #3 please
Could be a vatteri it looks quite similar to mine or maybe triachanthum they are very difficult to ID due to variations in features and usually gymnocalycium are very hybridised. Flowers will help you might want to post again once it flowers that will make it a bit easier to ID. Care wise they are p...

Cool.
I can't wait until the weather's good enough to water my collection too. They always look great in spring with the first watering.

Re: Need Help with Cactus Identification
The thin growth on the tops is due to a lack of light rather than lack of water. It needs far more light to grow healthy. It should be thick like at the bottom of the stems but all the way up but has stretched out looking for stronger light. It is some kind of echinocereus or echinopsis/trichocereus...
