What's eating my indoor cactus?
Yesterday I had a beautiful, round offshoot. Today I came home from work to this mess. There are no other signs of damage to this cactus or the others. No webbing or visible critters. Inside cactus, so no rodents or slugs could have gotten to it. Help?? :?: Background: This cactus is about 10 inches...

Balding on top? Maybe splitting?
I grew this cactus (Craig) from just a pup, and I'm excited that he is now growing some offshoots of his own! But today I noticed a dark spot on top that looks like there should be a spine, but there is not. It is a little dark and then is white in the center as if it darkened and then split a littl...

Save my lithops?!
After visiting the beautiful cacti greenhouse at the Chicago botanical garden last summer, I've been itching to add a few lithops to my own garden. Soooo, being thoughtful, my boyfriend brings me home a small bunch from a greenhouse by his work. Fantastic right?! Well, I was ecstatic. But then I saw...

Grafted cactus rot?
The bottom of the lower cactus (as seen in picture) has turned a significantly lighter green. It is not soft nor is it broken inside, but it is thinner in that portion than the meatier green parts above. I've encountered this appearance before, but I was broken and seedy and due to too much water, c...

Death and sickness after dormancy?
My first ever cactus, Lucy: owned for 2 years, just died about 2 weeks after her first watering of the spring season after dormancy. It happened very quickly, not gradually. I don't know what happened, could I have watered her too much? Too little? Too late? Did she just have a hard time adjusting? ...

Reddish Brown tips?
As spring progresses, I've started watering my cacti and succulents, and most seem well, but this lovely little succulent has actually started Browning at the tips of each branch. The rest of the branch seems healthy. What could this be?

Moon cactus soft
The green stem cactus of my grafted gymnocalycium mihanovichi friedrichii has gone soft at the bottom! (**###**Panic sets in**###**). I noticed about 3 days ago that the stem was discoloring but it was still firm. Today I checked it and the base of the cactus (Francheska Kelly) has gone soft. When t...

Fungi ruins Christmas?
Ive had this christmas cactus (Susan) under a year and she recently started flourishing with new growth. In the last few days her brightly colored healthy green leaves started turning rust colored and started falling off. Ive attatched pictures, it looks like evidence of fungus, maybe? It looks like...

What's going on with this?
You can see light spots on my stetsonia coryne (lovingly named jim bob) in this picture. The are much lighter than the rest of the body and you can easily push down on those spots as if there is nothing under there for a few millimeters. One side is much worse than the other but i do not know if the...

Healing Skin damage
I received a bowl from Lowes with 3 cacti in it for my birthday this past year, and one (who I have named Gordan) had a strange flower. It turns out the company GLUED a fake flower on to my lovely cactus -_- it started coming off and took skin with it. It also had skin breakage near it's underside f...

My love isn't producing the offsets she should?
My first cactus which I got about a year ago, (since then I have aquired 8 more and propogated 15 young offsets from cacti that had several offsets already when I purchased them. I have done my research and taken care of my babies as well as I can as a new owner, but, despite my efforts, she has cha...
