Re: Later than Late
Is it unusual for them to bloom now in the UK? Winter is prime flowering season in its native habitat and where I live. I think flowering time for Haworthia in the UK is any time after June 22nd(the longest day) but the end of November into December is rather late. The best bit about it flowering n...

Re: The Cactiguide Haworthia Thread
Hi all, I put this post in the General Succullents thread because I didn't know about the Haworthia thread. An Haworthia haageana which doesn't seem to know what time of the year it is. This flower started to appear just a couple of weeks ago and quickly climbed to its present height at 28cm. No wat...

Later than Late
An Haworthia haageana which doesn't seem to know what time of the year it is. This flower started to appear just a couple of weeks ago and quickly climbed to its present height at 28cm. No water has been given to my Haworthia's for a couple of months so why this one is flowering I just don't know.

Re: A Wish has been Granted
When I first posted this thread I also said the next on my wish list was a Pachypodium namaquanum and how I missed out on one that I had bought. Well, I went for the first one that came on the internet and went the whole hog and splashed out. Here is a picture of my top of the list and I'll now keep...

Re: A Wish has been Granted
Here is the picture of my Solisia pectinata or Mammillaria pectinifera, whatever it is called. It arrived this morning and I am very, very happy with it.

Re: A Wish has been Granted
'll have a look out for the Mammillaria solisioides that you mention.
I have looked at some of the euro nurseries as you have suggested but I find the sites some times quite confusing whereas Ebay is very straight forward. I'll have to study them a bit closer.

Re: A Wish has been Granted
I missed out on a Pachypodium namaquanum, in fact I even won the plant but unfortunately the seller sent my plant to a buyer in Italy and I got a Euphorbia of some sort. I couldn't ask for another one because that was the last Pachypodium the seller had. As compensation she gave me two Euphorbia suz...

Re: What are your favourites?
I have just added a post above about the plant I've always wanted and I've just ordered one from a seller on Ebay. A Solisia pectinata. That is my top plant.
I will reply with my other favourites a little later.

A Wish has been Granted
I have not been collecting Cacti & Succulents for very long( about 8 months) but I have built up quite a lot of plants in that short time. The Cactus I have always wanted was the Solisia pectinata. I don't usually like to pay much for plants but last night I went over the top, I paid over £21(al...

Re: Ariocarpus trigonus
Thanks for that info. The trouble is I am getting a bit old in the tooth now and my passport has run out. I don't think I'll be getting another one so I'll try to get some one to bring me some plants back.

Re: Ariocarpus trigonus
I was really looking forward to receiving my Pachypodium namaquanum. I have a few Caudiciforms and this would have been my pride and joy because this particular one isn't very easy to get hold of. The reason I said "inferior" was because I paid quite a bit more for the Pachypodium than I w...

Ariocarpus trigonus
I recently ordered a Pachypodium namaquanum from a seller on Ebay but unfortunately she got my plant mixed up with some one else and I ended up with an inferior plant, an Ariocarpus trigonus. When it arrived I thought, at first, that it was my Pachypodium because it had a caudex. The trouble is sinc...

I don't think it's a cactus. Probably a Euphorbia but i'm not a fan of them but some one will know on here.

A Couple of Cactus for ID Please
Hi all, I've had these two cacti for a few months now and I'm at a loss as to what they are.
The first one I think has a name like castles and the other one might be a Noto but hopefully some one can put me right.
