darn, I just took some soil from the top and squeezed it. it releases water alright. darn.
I'll open the ziplock bags for a few hours a day to back off humidity.

I've had this Peruvian for 2 years now, it grew from 7cm to 14cm now. This year I bought cactus fertilizer and give a dash of it every month or so. I water the cactus in summer infrequently, every 1 or 2 weeks. Lately the sunshine has been strong and I watered it a few times twice a week. Exactly on...

Thanks. The colour of a few isn't great. Others look better. I took an overview photo with bright sunlight. Would you say humidity is too high? I've started growing a bunch of sacred cacti from seeds. The seedling roots seem hairy and fluffy. Sometimes they go straight down, but often they go sidesways and flail across the soil. Is it of any purpose to cover the roots with some fine sand/soil to make it easier on them? Like this, photos: ht...
