Sick Ferocactus?
Hi guys,
I bought this Ferocactus (Latispinus?) a couple of weeks ago. Before I settled him on a new soil and container, I checker the roots and the basis of the cacti: no problems. Two-three days ago I noticed these water-alike spots on the basis of the thorns. Is that a disease?

Hi guys, check my last post for photos (viewtopic.php?f=25&t=41112&p=348069#p348069). It really look like Notocactus erubescens. When I bought it, it was like yours.

Suckers on my cacti?
Hi guys,
I've been noticing for a while the growth of these 'suckers' on my cacti, whose genus I wasn't able to understand (maybe Echinocereus?).
Does somebody knows if they're just suckers or if they are something else, that could bring flowers or anyway have to be kept?
Thanks! Francesca

Re: Propagation Ariocarpus fom seed
Hi Franks, that's amazing! You're like the king of Asterias I just have two of them, so I don't think I might be able to perform the pollination.
Anyways, thanks a lot for the useful info! My bests,
Francesca

Re: Propagation Ariocarpus fom seed
Hi Frank, sorry, I meant myriostigma, I wrote asterias...
I bought the cactus a couple of years ago, so I have no clue how it was grown and kept before... I'll try anyway, let's see what happens.
Thanks again, my bests!

Re: Propagation Ariocarpus fom seed
Frank, that's a nice job! And very useful to know if the plantulae experience this kind of attack. Sorry to bother, but I have a question concerning my Astrophytum Asteriam v. nudum. As you see in the picture, the plant is fine and has flowered 5 times last summer. Although I noticed that when the f...

Hi guys, I really think it's Huernia. My little H. hystrix is growing with these features. You'll discover what ssp. when it'll flower.

jfabiao: thanks for you feedback, I also got the feeling they're a serious online shop. Do they send you an email when they ship?
Aiko: sorry!!!! I saw it in one of your announcements. Yep, they have nice stuff.

Re: Updated seed lists
Aiko, I've eventually decided for SuccSeeds, which I saw you also recommended. I'm started last year growing cacti from seeds, so I think that for now this purchaser it's fine. I also wanted to buy Tavaresia angolensis, but I couldn't find the seeds anywhere, at least not at SuccSeeds. Got any idea?...
