Well I was way off the mark. Just been looking at lots of images of both varieties and boy are they similar. I think though that R. muscula could be the one. When it comes into flower again I might re-post some pics just to confirm. Thanks once again for your help.

Thanks esp-imaging. You are correct about the warmth, wetness and my potting medium. I have up to now used a propriety cacti mix and it is surprisingly full of bark.
