Cereus or Epiphyllium?

Post by robertc2 »

Hi,

A friend gave me a start of the plant in the attached photo and said it was a Night-Blooming Cereus. I've been trying to properly catalog my plants succulents and cactus and in doing research I'm starting to think I have an Epiphyllium of some variety. I've also attached a photo of the bloom of the parent plant. Can anyone tell me for sure what I have?

Thanks in advance.

That is an Epiphyllum. And a beauty, at that! Many people confuse Night Blooming Cereus with Epiphyllums because many Epiphyllums bloom at night.

Hi, Thanks for the info and the comment. I haven't gotten it to bloom yet, but I'm told the parent plant put on 8 blooms this year. Fingers crossed for next year.
