Though very impressive, i don't see many of those in cultivation other than C. Invicta Apparently, the harder Tephrocactus, Maihueniopsis and Cumulopuntia are the small opuntiads of choice for collectors. They are good fast-ish low growing species so they are not much of a turn off for greenhouse or limited space collectors..
What are your thoughts on the genus?

They are hardy, easy plants to grow, but difficult to set seed. Several species are native here in Arizona. I especially like the small species.

These are all cute plants but should be kept outdoors or in a sunny greenhouse at least.
