Do I need to regraft this Cintia knizei "rubra"?

Post by zagoric »

Original stock didn't survive shipping and potting...will it grow on its own roots or do I need to regraft? If grafting, would you recommend Harrisia justbertii or Myrtillocactus? Thanks.

I'd regraft it. There's hardly any chlorophyll to support it on its own.
Either stock should be fine I'd think.

Yeah regrant for sure i have a bunch of these as well, they do fine on either of those i personally prefer jusbertii at this point in my grafting but it's just because myrtles can sometimes get weird in winter or decide to rot for no reason, i don't get that with jusbertii. Trichocereus P could work too if you want a real fast grower.
