Hi cacti friends!
I have a Notocactus Ottonis and a Notocactus Roseoluteus. Both of them act healthy except the brown coloring on the skin of both cacti. On the Ottonis it looks like someone took a paintbrush and went up and down on the bottom all the way around.
The Roseoluteus has similar markings around the middle of its body. Does anyone have any clue what could have caused this? None of my other plants have this affliction!! Very strange to say the least.
Thanks
Karin
Here are the pics.the first 2 are Ottonis and the bottom 2 are Roseoluteus.

Not necesarilly something wrong. Some cacti do this sometimes. But than again I can be wrong. I'm still young to cacti.
Re: What happened here??
Thank you, Maja! I really hope it's nothing wrong seriously with my plants because they look healthy otherwise.

Re: What happened here??
It does look like corking, normally a natural process of aging cacti an few of mine have this too.
And as the walls come down and as I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade recalling all of the times
I have died and will die.
It's all right.
I dont mind
I dont mind.

If it's corking than that's ok. The brown spots are not soft and the cacti themselves are healthy otherwise! Thanks for making me feel better!:-)
