Is This Sunburn or a Pest

Post by WayneByerly »

This recently acquired (from Lowes) cactus, a Trichocereus grandiflorus, about four and a half inches in diameter and approximately nine inches tall, went directly outside as quickly as I got it home and in a new pot, where it got a maximum of about four hours of direct sunlight per day (in central Tennessee). But it has been raining more often than I thought the cactus should be exposed to so I brought it back inside where it has in the last day or two developed these black spots.

My questions, is:
Is this sunburn or is it some kind of insect pest?

Any and all commentary 100% welcome.

If it's just on one side I'd say its probably sunburn.
