White stuff beneath thorns

Post by Benyellow »

Anyone knows what is the white stuff beneath the thorns of my melocactus? I suspect it's spider mites but couldn't find any sign of them.

Could be the remnants of a mealy bug egg cluster. I'd look very closely for evidence of mealy bugs and their cotton wool-like egg clusters, See links below.
