Oreocereus trollii strange growth

Post by mjaurelio »

Hello everyone! I have this oreocereus trollii cactus that I got a few months ago, and now it has started to show signs of growth since me bringing it home. However, I'm curious to know why the growth on the tip of the cactus is growing in strange. it gets full sun for most of the day so I know that it's not etiolation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :D

It looks like it's growing an offset (new branch). This could be because the growing point of the old stem had died for some reason.

Ah ok makes sense! I did notice something that looked like sunburn on the growth tip because this plant gets full direct sunlight for most of the day. Thanks :D
