Hmmmm in a bit of a situation as I've been away for the last 2 weeks caring for a family member and left my collection to periodically be looked over by a friend.
She sent me a picture this evening of what seems like a cono disintegrating. She's made mention that none of the plants have been watered in my absence but I am alarmed since Im not heading back till the end of the month. Should I have her pull it out of the pot, cut the dying offset and sprinkle sulfur powder or hydrogen peroxide till I get back...
Please share your thoughts.

That appears to be rot or withering & death from physical damage, IMO.
