scale, corking or else?

I bought this T. atacamensis online and look what i found. Is this a serious problem ? What can i do?

Yes I did that already. But do you know anything about the disease if it is a disease?

Huh that's interesting. I have some damage similar to that. When I first started growing Trichocereus I put too much fertilizer on them and they got growth like that. Is it soft at all? Mine wasn't soft.

No it's not. Solid rock. I think it's tissue damage coused by (excess or lack of) the natural elemens such as sunlight, water, nutrients etc.

My trichocereus peruvianus and bridgesii monstrose both have these scars. I think it's when they get stuck with a spine of a neighbouring plants in the nursery when they get moved about. They don't seem to be problematic just unsightly.

Seems a fungal infection of the epidermis, usually does not cause problems for the plant, but causes ugly scars
