Cactus advice?

Post by GK23 »

Hi
I recently repotted a cactus of mine. A few weeks later, the base started going a bit mushy. I didn't water it and just used standard cacti potting mix. Will it come right? Sorry, I am quite inexperienced.
Thank you very much!

Is it still soft? If it is you may need to cut off the healthy top part if the stem and let it re-root. If it is firm get it out of the soil clean off any dead roots and let it rest for a week before reptoting. When you repot it make the soil mix a lot leaner, more rocks and gritty bits and much less organic ingredients so when it has water again it uses what it needs and then is not sitting in damp soil which most likely caused it to go soft.
And as the walls come down and as I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade recalling all of the times
I have died and will die.
It's all right.
I dont mind
I dont mind.
I DONT MIND
