I noticed two of the bulbs had turned brown in the last week of April. I removed these but now the rest of the cactus is showing the same signs of deterioration. Can anyone identify the cause and what might be done to help the plant?
Thanks.

Re: Cactus Deteriorating, Need help identifying cause
Your cactus does show the classical symptoms of what is commonly called "root rot". It can be caused by either bacteria or fungi and most likely is the result of overwatering your plant and using a growing medium that does not drain well enough and holds moisture too long.
There is nothing at this point that can be done, because your plant is dead.
I am sorry, that I do not have any better news.
