There are severayl cultivars. Here a couple of mine. Doesn't show well but then smaller one is very red.
These have several subspecies acc. to D. Hunt: ssp. tepoxtlana; ssp. pilcayensis and the nominal one. Maybe this makes the difference.
Some list pilcayensis as its own species but i don't lnow about that. But even pilcayensis has pure white or brownish or reddish spines.
I think my big one is a hybrid since they come in all sorts of shapes and colors. It's of commerical cactus origin, neither from seed nor from a reputable nursery.
As for the L. Williamsii, i think it looks very nice.

Thanks, folks!

So March is here and winter is stepping aside little by little. Realizing that my pot count is over 200, I assumed that at least 50 of those should get a new soil this winter during their rest. My notebook list about pending soil change ( = cactus software prompt ?) is showing ~that number and most is done, some are left for summer days. Not doing this in time would bring my plants into stunted condition because of the salt accumulated in the old substrate.

Not much is happening among my plants this winter. Some Mammillaria & Turbinicarpus with sunny spots bloomed only.

T. valdezianus: these flowers are long lasting, more than 10 days each - due to low temps I guess.

Your collection may be small in comparison to some others, but it does not appear small to me. And you have some of the most spectacular specimens that I have seen in many a collection. You have an extravagant amount of reason to be very proud of the collection that you do have. Words like beautiful and gorgeous are for ordinary things like roses. You need some new words to describe your collection. It just so far exceeds the ordinary that the wor7++ds you see and hear are just not adequate.

My addiction to and my extreme need for more cacti can be indirectly attributable to people like you. This is your fault! You're to blame! These pictures fill me with envy  and then Incite me to spend money that I should be spending on unimportant things like rent, electricity, and food, on more important things like cacti, dirt and fertilizer!

This is YOUR fault!

My caterwauling above was not serious. It was supposed to be funny. If it was in any way, shape, form, or reason, offensive, I hereby extend my profoundest apologies, reiterating my stance that it was supposed to be humor. . :D.

Tanks, WayneByerly,
But you have to be strong. :D I almost feel the same looking at K.W. collection but knowing how much work, efforts & abnegation stay behind it I'm not envy at all. I would have more plants if I had space for those but maybe that is good thing at the end of the day. I that case I wouldn't be able to bring enough personal attention to each of it to make it happy and flourishing.

Note: Some of the photos posted here are made back in time (2009 and after) but most are current. Some of plants (20 - 30) reside at my parents' house far far away that I visit occasionally but always take some photos.

Long harsh winter or maybe the new soil confused this Schlumbergera to set up several buds again in spring.

This planting should be gently transferred into a new pot. Not sure which kind (concrete, polymer or clay again) will withstand our severe outdoor colds. The paint still holds the structure.

My Opuntia grow in containers almost as good as in the ground. Trying to keep the moisture in the soil by a layer of rocks. We have here often dry chinook winds that suck out the moisture very fast.

The flower of Larryleachia cactiformis is so different and beautiful! It's like psychedelic. And I admire the flowers of the opuntia! I realized I don't kinda like opuntias in general but their flowers surely are worth to wait!

O, yeah: the flow of tubercles of these plants above is little different, seedlings' individuality.

Opuntias are worth to keep in collection outdoors only. Thirst they are bulky and second need all the sun your sky provides. These I have (polacantha, fragilis, some other hybrids and cultivars) possess almost limitless cold-hardiness (- 35 C for sure) and can be kept in pots in winter cause their roots ate cold-hardy as well. Ground here freezes 0.5 m deep in winter anyway. Our summer is maybe like yours, average maximums 23°, minimums ~10° and unbelievable 18 - 32° during the heat waves. But lot of sunny clear days at my 1025 m elevation.
