Those are beauties James. Are they a difficult species to grow ?

They do have that reputation when grown on their own roots, Neal. However, I do not like grafted cacti and I have found that this species is not too difficult on its own roots if the plants are grown in a soil mix that drains very well and they are kept warm in winter -- I think winter warmth (45 F minimum temp) is the real key factor.
