Pill Bugs living under my pots

Post by skyward »

I have pill bugs, or rolly-pollies living under/inside my cacti pots.
are they harmful?

also,I've noticed some of my san pedro(growing in tall grass and weeds in the yard) have started to develop offsets only to be devoured before they even pop, leaving a little scar where the bud was growing.

They won't hurt your cactus as they eat dead material. However, it suggests to me that things might be a little more wet than your cactus might want. Not for sure, but possible.

humidity problems strike again!

I moved my cuttings and clone mothers out to the farm, and now only keep a few cacti at home to keep me company.

I have found the rolly pollies living under terracotta pots that have been completely dry for weeks, so It seems they just like terra cotta.

They like the terra cotta cause it holds water in.
OR at least I thought that's how it's supposed to work.
Here's to you, all you insidious creatures of green..er I mean cacti.
