Hi- here's a few pictures from the hike that also included the Pediocactus find.

Fairly clear idea of the transition from juniper-pinon woodlands to Ponderosa. O. imbricata at the edge of its range, and O. phaeacantha (I think):

As soon as you get above 7,000 feet or so, Yucca baccata starts popping up:

Looks like some fairly rugged country. What better terrian for rugged cacti to be growing.

Gotta love all those "varieties" :lol:
