Hi- here's a few pictures from the hike that also included the Pediocactus find.
Fairly clear idea of the transition from juniper-pinon woodlands to Ponderosa. O. imbricata at the edge of its range, and O. phaeacantha (I think):
As soon as you get above 7,000 feet or so, Yucca baccata starts popping up:
O. polyacantha (variety something or other) lounging about
O. polyacantha v. hystricina (I think):
Some kind of pale green, very smooth O. phaeacantha:
