Gymnocalycium esperanzae
Here’s a Gymnocalycium I’ve had grafted for a few years now. I got the seeds from succseed. I’ve been thinking maybe it’s time to degraft it and start it on its own roots, but I just haven’t gotten around to it and the plant doesn’t seem too unhappy. Any advice would be welcomed. I do like the spines on mine. No flowers yet. I don’t do enough in terms of a proper dormant period in the winter.

I’m working on getting a side photo but the file size from my phone is too large. Oh boy.

Sorry about the lower quality. I blame the storm.

That is a fine looking plant. Too bad it was grafted (I don't like grafts personally).
But I suspect it will look nicer when degrafted now than if you would wait a few years. It seems to be big enough to be on its own.

Re: Gymnocalycium esperanzae
I think my growing area got infiltrated by fungal gnats at the time and I wanted to keep this guy alive so I grafted it to be safe. I’ll degraft it when I figure out what the best time to do that will be. Time to read up.
