Melted Mesembs

Hello,
I just melted my first pleiospilos and lithops, here one day and mush the next due to incorrect watering. The pleiospilos roots still look healthy. Is it possible that the roots will make a pup or is it done for?

It does not regenerate from the roots. So it is death.
