Hi all,
I need a little helpt with my (big) cactus, a polaskia chichipe around 1 meter high, a wonderful cactus.
I repotted it last month, and now there's a spot/wound just under the soil. I am doubting what it is. It is spliced open for around a centimeter and soil/water has pulled in a little. I cleaned it a bit with water and qtips, it isn't deep.
Before repotting I scraped some of the brown around the stam to see if it was rot. It wasn't (I know now it is very normal) and there was perfectlt healthy green under the brown.
I am afraid that I have damaged it a little and it caused this spot. Or is it something worse? an infection?
What do you guys think I have to do? Will it heal? Can it get infected and kill the plant?
Many thanks already!

If it's firm, not mushy, I'd just leave it uncovered and keep it dry. Keep an eye on it, it should callus over, which will form a barrier against rot. if rot does set in, you'll need to carve it out.

If you can find some powdered Sulphur, I'd apply a bit to the damaged surface to help prevent infection.

Seems to dry pretty good, no sap leaking and nicely hard
Will look in the sulphur!
What about a anti fungus spray? I have one, will this also prevent?
