You can, but it was appallingly bad quality sound for me (or no sound at all for some time) and made me miserable for half an hour until I gave up. I downloaded it and the next lecture was fine.

 Thank you One Windowsill and Aiko :) I am no computer whiz, far from it! So I would probably risk to ‘join in’ by share mistake.. ;P A tought as tempting as ‘joining in’ at one of those beaches were people take all their clothes off.. :horror:

I don't think there are any inherent barriers of entry for women. At the risk of stereotyping, perhaps they do not find cacti appealing? There seem to be many more women who are into foliage plants.

It seems to be, but I think that's changing. In my club, most of the membership is men, but about half of the officers are women. I don't think there is any reason women won't eventually make up half of the hobby. I think the current situation is a reflection of women having less time and money than men. The hobby tends to skew older too and I think that accentuates this, since women had less time/money in the past than now

This is about serious collectors* mind you. If we're just talking about people who have plants, I think it's close to 50/50. At least this was my experience working at a plant nursery. Will this eventually translate into the hobby being 50/50? I don't see why not

*What is a serious collector? I'd say someone who seeks out other growers to talk about plant cultivation. That would be all of us for example
