I don't think I've ever seen most of those Albuca. I always see something I've never seen before on your threads.

Most mesembs are winter growers, including Aloinopsis.
BUT, most also need water all year long in Southern California, especially Aloinopsis.
They may rot if over watered, but may swivel up and die if underwatered.
I water Aloinopsis Heavily fall through late spring, to make sure they stay fat and happy.
I had problems with them not growing and being kind of flabby until I started giving them more water, and the fat tuberous root need deep watering to get to the bottom of the pot.
I water them lightly during the summer.
I have recently found that my Argyroderma do better with Winter watering, so now water all year.
The only summer growers for me are Lithops and Lapidaria.

thanks Craig, I need too try again they are pretty cool plants. Next time I'll use a cactus compost meaning added pumice like I use for conophytums. I don't remember what it was in before but I do remember I bought it in Ojai from a seller that is no more, Desert images a great place.
Do you sell them ? I should check your site you have some pretty nice quality plants. All the ones you sold me so far all still alive ,
"The only summer growers for me are Lithops and Lapidaria." what about Dinteranthus ? summer growers I think ?
"Argyroderma do better with Winter watering" yea that's what I do but they do like to split.

Here are some photos from last Winter
Bulbine mesembryanthemoides
This species goes dormant early, and are now leafless
The batch on the left are about a year and half
the cluster on the right is about 5 years old

I guess what I called Bulbine aff. mesembryanthemoides is actually bulbine mesembryanthemoides ssp. namaquensis according to Google
This species stays active until June.

Senecio stapeliaeformis
I planted a bunch of different species of snake Senecios in a pot with open sides
They are battling it out for dominance

Here is the total collection of Little Spheroid cross with Red Coral
This is the normal form of "Little Spheroid" small plant grown with the same light levels as the hybrids
IMG_4996.jpg
Here is my second favorite hybrid
I had a couple names, "Paint Ball", "Space Balls" Denise nixed those names
The purple dots on grey skin is pretty cool
So this one needs a name..
IMG_4981.jpg
This one is more mottled, and spiny
It needs a name..
IMG_5007.jpg
This may be the same as the above plant, or slightly different
IMG_5010.jpg
This one may not be a cross with Red Coral at all, maybe another marianiae form
We probably won't even both to sell it, since it isn't that great
It's more of a misshaped mottled Little Spheroid
IMG_4984.jpg
and of course, this form is the best IMO, we got it year ago and have grow it in less light than the above plants
so the coloring is less intense.
We are calling it "Cherry Bomb", but I still want a better name
IMG_4948.jpg
We don't have any of these for sale yet, (we have sold a couple some small Cherry Bombs, and will have more soon)
I wanted to get good photos of these before I cut them up for future sales
But we hope to have them available next year.
For the unofficial naming contest, we will send you 2 rooted leaves of the plant for your contribution.
Love all your Little Spheroid crosses, I actually purchased one from you last year and a year later looks just awesome, my favorite Adro by far.
Cheers
Miki

Cheers

I'm pretty sure that your plant is "Pop Hearts"
Red Coral crossed with little spheroid
Ours turn beet red this time of the year
Here are a couple photos I forgot to post
Pelargonium cotyledonis

this is a sad sight
The top is dying, probably from sun burn
I cut the baby head off and will try to root it
I also cut the dead part off the top, and hoping it will heal, but it probably won't

The above died shortly after that photo
I saved the cutting

Here is well rooted cutting from a couple years ago, hoping it will be a good show plant for the miniature class after a couple more years, if it survives.
There are some small inflorescences emerging from the scales. I presume they have very small seeds.

Didn't get very many Cono flower photos, maybe next year, but I didn't want to miss this one
Conophytum hammeri
Hopefully I will get seeds next year.

Anyone know a name?

Why are Conophytum calculus and Conophytum pageae so expensive are they really hard to grow ?
The cono's I got from you are really nice thanks !! So far growing the Cono's for the last few years most are still alive. You would think they would be easy in this climate but I think they can be tricky not like Dudleyas or other winter growers.

Conophytum calculus is expensive because it very slowly divides into more heads
Conophytum pageae is expensive because it's easy to kill, like I did to all mine

Hard to keep alive and slow growing . I guess that explains it, that and a demand for them.
