This caught my eye at work, procrastinating on a report I have to work up on Arizona standardized math test results....ugh...

This seems a fascinating statistic. Why 96? Why that evening?

Peter,
I remember that day and have been watching the stats since that time. I believe it is one of the first times that I sent out a mass e-mail for the picture contest.
I usually check number of users each time I hit the forum. I've never seen it near that high since. This stat does not take into account spiders, but other forms of robots could have been showing up as guests.

LOL!!!ihc6480 wrote:Come on, you remember Peter. Thats the night we had the late night party going on while daiv was away
Ok, maybe not
I wasnt around at that time but as for stats for so many people on the forums at that time and date, could be like Daiv stated due to a contest, as most forums that have a contest or send mass emails about it do get a very large amount of folks on the forums on a certain day or night or could be like other forums alot of folks just had a TON of time on there hands and was board and needed to hang out at there fav forums.. With me i have a tendancy to hang out ALL OVER THE PLACE. LOL!! But most of the time is spent on my fav forums.

Speaking of stats, has anyone (exvept Daiv) noticed the total posts and members. I remember looking at those numbers when they were just about 1000 members and 50,000 posts and wondering which milestone (2000 and 100,000) would be reached first. 100,000 seemed a shoo-in for a long time, but maybe not.
Do you get a number on how many views Daiv? That's a staggering number , I'm sure.
I just looked it up, 1000 members on July 9, 2007.

Hey Buck, the views are listed per post, but obviosly that would take a long time to add by hand.
I can check the database and run a query to get the number. I'll see what stats might be of interest.
I had some good data from Google analytics, but I shared a work account that is gone now, so I'm not sure if that data is lost. I didn't remove the code so I'm sure Google is still storing all that data for when they take over the world.

I saw that Buck - looks like that will happen before 2000 members.
It is Spring time that makes this happen, I am sure. While our Southern Hemisphere members get active at the opposite time of year, we Northern types outnumber by a good bit and so the board activity really increases this time of year. I've observed that trend since the start and it is pretty consistent.
Traffic in 2009 is up in Feb over Jan by 16% and March is up over Feb another 21% (month to date).
I notice that new users don't swing as much to seasons as overall activity. In other words, new people aren't added much faster at this time, but existing users become much more active....
