My Turbinicarpus plants...


T. pseudopectinatus with buds. These have been working on these buds for a couple of months. Very slow progress...


T. pseudopectinatus inermis with tons of buds, but they are very tiny.


And finally a P. nelii trying to squeeze out a flower. I swear I can hear it grunting, trying to get out...

awsome lot of turbs!! I have a pseudopectinatus with small/tiny buds that just wont do anything.. How do you work them to make progress/bloom?

I love those turbs! The buds do have a way of sitting there for weeks and then they flower very suddenly, sometimes. Can't really do anything to rush them as far as I know.

Craig, several of the plants I got from you recently flowered when they were in my propagation chamber. A little bottom heat woke them up and got them going. I brought them outside yesterday to make room for my Pereskiopsis stocks.

I"ll definitely take pictures when they pop open, but I think it's going to take a few more weeks, judging from past performance. Unless of course we get a heat wave.

It's a very nice Turbinicarpus collection, congratulation.
The buds on mine T. pseudopectinatus are since December and they don't open before April.

Thanks for the confirmation Ralf. I got the T. pseudopectinatus late last spring, so this is my first flower cycle.

You'll be surprised how pretty are this Turbi flowers. I can't get enough of it. I've more than 40 different plants of it, excluded Gymnocactus.
The special of this Genus is you can collect many species on limited space.
I love it!

Awesome plants, Craig! Interesting that the flowers are mostly white, they buds look so dark like they'll be red or purple.

I can hardly wait. It was sunny and warm again today, but were getting a couple of days of clouds and rain showers. I'll just have to be patient I guess...

New plant, Avonia quinaria - continuing my slow foray into succulents.


New plant, Copiopoa tenuissima monstrose - now start looking weird!


New plant, Discocactus buenekerii - I felt I needed a disco cactus...


Ferocactus glaucens - I took these offsets about a year ago. They took their time, but they are growing well now.


Fenesteria flowers - still a little evidence of past predation. Making tons of flowers now!


New plant, Lophophora hoehreshii - I only had L. willies up to now. Figured it was time to diversify (a little).


New plant, Lophophora williamsii - another one...


Mammillaria coahuilense with more flowers.


Mammillaria haageana ssp. elegans making blobs of flowers (?)


M. herrerae without flowers and M. lasaiscantha with. The flowers are more brownish in person.


M. nazacensis with a little yellow flowers. They are kind of scruffy looking but they have weird orange pubescent hooked centrals.

Stunning stuff, Tim. The Disco buenekeri flowers are nice, very fragrant, nocturnal in the heat of our summer.
