My Cactus photos

Post by 29Palms »

Hi everyone, we are lucky enough to live in the desert so we grow all our cactus outdoors. We do get some light winter frost but winters down here are generally brief and mild, overall. ImageImageWe are at about 1600 feet elevation, east of 29 Palms.

Here are a couple Cholla cactus planted in the yard.

Well if you ask me, growing cacti near 29 Palms is way better than trying to grow a lawn! :thumbright:

Then again, I also think growing cacti in Minnesota is a great idea too.
All Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are Cacti

Well, it is spring here! A couple weeks ago I was checking the Opuntia scheeri pads that I stuck in the ground last August ( http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/viewtop ... 56#p203356 ) and I was pleased to see that every one of them are starting new pads. Today I got a photo of one of them and was going to upload it, but the message board says attachment quota for the board has been reached.
