My lollypop G. mihanovichii died. I tried to save it. How? I brought it to the colleague who is more knowledgeable in the cacti than I am. He show me how can I get the offsets off the cacti to try to save them. But he gave me a substitute in case it doesn't work. Here is the substitute:
Problem is we don't exactly know what fero it is. Any ideas?

Nice Haworthia, Maja! Do you know if it's a retusa? My addictive behavior has spread into Haworthias. Have several Flickr contacts that are Haworthia fanatics that are "feeding" me while I get/grow "a few" . Fabulous plants, esp. if poor lighting (great for upstate NY winters)!
Once bitten by the cactus collecting/growing bug, there is no known cure!
There's no 12 step programme for Cactaholics...so I shall just have to get some more!!

And the echinopsis isn't an echinopsis. I've been told it's Acanthocalycium violaceum.

With apologies to the late Professor C. D. Darlington the following misquotation springs to
