If anyone is in the midwest, the Mid-States conference is coming up. I'll be selling books there and would be thrilled to meet any CactiGuide members who may attend.

To bad it's not a little closer! I got the email about it from the Fort Worth, Texas, club and saw "Exotic Plant Books" listed as a vendor and was wondering if that was you? How cool!

This event is coming up fast! I will be leaving early Weds. morning (June 20). I know some of the people that will be there through the CSSA and other connections, but are any CactiGuiders going to attend? Would love to meet up with you if so!

OK, now for some pics... I am going to post a little out of order here. I'll start with the sales area since that was the focus.
Here is my book area just after getting set up: Woody and Panyoti looking at the new Cold-Hardy book Three shots from the plant sales Here are folks at the final banquet (partial room shot) The live auction

Here are some of the live auction items:
Here are some of the entries in the show.
The 3 show judges for the show actually judged the entire plant/photo show openly. That is they discussed their reasoning for each entry and what they thought was good and bad on each. This took forever, but it was cool. All Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are Cacti

Isnt that how it is normaly done? The 3 show judges for the show actually judged the entire plant/photo show openly. That is they discussed their reasoning for each entry and what they thought was good and bad on each. This took forever, but it was cool.

I don't think so. I think usually the judges go into a room alone and people come in later to see the results. That is admitting that I never really got into the show thing so maybe that is the norm?

I don't have a lot of experience with C&S shows, but every other plant show I've gone to (roses, orchids, etc.) the judges evaluate and decide before anyone else is allowed into the show area. Generally you put your plants up for judging the night before or that morning and when they open up to the public you will already see a bunch of ribbons in front of the winning plants.
I'm now selling plants on Ebay. Check it out! Kyle's Plants

Looks like it was a good show! That is quite an assortment of books you had at your table in the photo! That's great!
