Turning brown
I have a couple of Astrophytum asterias and one of them has started to turn a brownish colour around the outer perimeter, what is causing this?
I have now nearly reached 1 year in this great hobby.
I have a slight preference for Stapeliads & Astrophytums

yes it would.
but from my basic experience I have found that underwatering then overwatering will cause a Euphorbia suzannae to go brown. then die

Buying a cactus a day will keep the madness away.

In my experience I have never lost a cactus to "underwatering". I have however over watered them. That being said I do not have any euphorbias so they might be totally different then cacti so I can't relate to Euphobias to cacti.
Here's to you, all you insidious creatures of green..er I mean cacti.
