Pollination success?

Hello everyone,
I tried pollinating with a brush thinking I wouldn't get any success. After the flowers wilted the base started to get fat. Will I get seeds? I only have two of these plants so they might be self pollinated. Will I get seeds from these and will my seeds grow?
Thanks.

Looks like a success!
Although it might not contain as many seeds as you would expect / hoped for. Sometimes the seed pods are loaded, and sometimes there is hardly anything in there (but not often).

Thanks Aiko...
So, what should I do next? How long do I let the fruit stay on the plant?

Leave them until the fruits are nice and over-ripened. Usually it's best to wait until the fruit splits on it's own, or until it becomes very loosely attached to the plant.

Indeed. For most species you can see the fruit split, and you see seeds peeping out. By that time the fruit is most likely easy to detach from your plant.

The fruit got fat (nice deep brownish maroon) then started drying up. It wouldn't shake off easily so I let it stay on the plant.
This is how it looks.

Today I saw the fruit split open. Time for harvest.

I cut the fruit open and voila! I have my very first seeds!!! Tens and tens of them... I have two more fruits on another plant.
