Fast Little Red Mite?

I've seen these a couple of times now always on their own, they're bright red usually 1mm to 2mm maybe a bit bigger and fast! usually I notice them because I will spot one running round the rim of a pot I've never seen one on a plant... am I right in assuming they are some kind of predatory mite rather than the nasty kind?

Many thanks I assume it's feeding on the emerging Sciarid fly :D
