Graft stock,Pereskiopsis "GIGANT"?

Post by kris »

Doese anyone know details of Pereskiopsis "GIGANT"?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pereskiopsis- ... 0768487202" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Is it different from the normal Pereskiopsis ? New species?
As you see the "GIGANT"'s stalk and leaves are so big!

And as the walls come down and as I look in your eyes
My fear begins to fade recalling all of the times
I have died and will die.
It's all right.
I dont mind
I dont mind.

It is not a new species simple a different one. I have to distinct pereskiopsis sp. 1 is spathulata which is the 'smaller' clone and the other is likely diguetii is the larger 1.

Ive always considered quiabentia to be a giant pereskiopsis... Haven't tried grafts on them yet though.

Don't recall from where, but I've read that Quiabentia's growth rate is far slower than the other leafy cacti... I don't know if that's true, but it would kind of explain the lack of availability and use as a stock.
I've seen those giant Pereskiopsis occasionally on eBay, but haven't really been in a position to buy it and see how it grows in conditions similar to the rest of the diguetii. I don't think my housemates would be too keen on even more Pereskiopsis plants scattering the house/yard, lol.
