Any idea what these brown/rust patches are ?

I'm wondering whether these coloured patches are anything to be concerned over on what I believe (thanks to the forum) is of some kind Echinopsis. There is no visible evidence of any kind of pests or bugs. There is one main area as shown in and also a couple of very small spots.

Unless it's spreading it's not a problem. Looks like scars, any number of things can cause them. I don't think I have a single cactus that doesn't have any scars on it.

Thanks, that sounds promising then. I've only this one around 5 months and would probably say it didn't have them then, or at least not as noticeably pronounced. Maybe I unwittingly damaged the surface when handling and repotting them back in February.
I'll keep a watch and see what develops.
