two Agaves

Post by don »

Just picked up two new agaves. The first was labeled as an a. parrasana. A friend says that it is mis-labeled but i think it is correct. The second had no ID. To me it looks like an a. horrida or maybe an a. obscura. Anyone ideas or positive ID's for either of them?

Thanks

1 is probably A. parryi.
2 is a cool plant that nobody has identified with certainty...I've been calling mine A. ghiesbreghtii, but YMMV. If I remember correctly, they were originally distributed by Altman's with a generic "agave" label.

Put 'em in the ground! :)
