Help with Mammillaria ID

Post by rsales3 »

I have been trying to ID this Mammillaria and have narrowed it down to several possibilities, M. anniana, M. lindsayi, or M. mammillaris. Maybe something else I did not consider. Please help with an identification. It was an Altman grown cactus. About 2 inches wide.

I agree it could be M. marksiana, if so yellowish green flowers would be typical for the species.

Thank you both. I was a bit thrown off by the spines but M. marksiana appears to be what I have. Don't see this one too often with Altman in my area. Nice flower on the marksiana.
Cheers.

Also, M. marksiana has latex. Mine has hardly any wool, but it is present. Gotta get a pic up.
