Will cacti grow back from roots if pruned to soil level?
For a couple of reasons, I would like to trim a pad-like cacti to soil level, but would like to know if it will then grow from the existing roots or if this will kill it? Any advice appreciated. Cheers

Opuntias are pretty sturdy. However, the more green stems you leave, the faster it will come back.
If you cut it to ground level, make sure to leave some stem for new growth to appear from.
