Agave Cuttings

Post by Shane »

I have an agave that was cut off at the base. The stem, leaves, etc. are fine, but it has no root system now. I'd like to save it in some way and am looking for advice

I've been unable to find out whether I can root the entire cutting (my preferred method). I've found lots of info on rooting offsets, but it's unclear whether this will work for the main stem. I've also heard you can grow new plants from individual leaves (my backup plan if I can't root the entire cutting), but I'm not sure the best way to do that

Any advice would be really appreciated
