Scale on my cuttings?
Scale on my cuttings?
I have a few cuttings that I took off of an etiolated ghost plant. The one that has actually grown a few small bulbs and roots appears to be covered in, what I suspect to be, scale. If it was a fully grown plant I would normally treat with alcohol on a q-tip and tweezers. Is that too aggressive for a delicate little cutting? If I leave it, will it over take the newly formed plant? Is this even scale?! I’m not sure what to do!

I don’t see any obvious scale, looks more like previous damage. Try to scrape them off, or spray whatever you like.

Re: Scale on my cuttings?
It's minor mechanical damage. Something has chewed or scraped the leaf surface in the past. It's all healed, it's now fine.
The "bulbs" are new leaves developing.

Every mark I see on my plants I believe it is scale! I’m so paranoid! I’m glad I asked before acting. Thank you for easing my fears! I will leave them alone.
