When should you water a newly transplanted cutting? I've heard up to 1 month but also heard after a week your good to go....

A week should be long enough.

Rooted cutting? Sure a week.

New cutting? After it roots.

Nice one mate I was thinking around that time, does it need a light spray or a good watering & then leave until the pot gets light? Its got a good amount of sunlight so I'm guessing it will need frequent watering as opposed to someone having it on a window sill or such.

How much of a root system does it have? If it has roots that can reach the water near the bottom of the pot, you could give it a deep watering.

Sorry for the late reply, it has roots but definetly not large enough to reach to the bottom of the pot.

You want to get water down to the roots, but not create a saturated zone in the bottom of the pot, as happens when you water deeply: http://gardening.stackexchange.com/ques ... ater-table

With no roots down there to take up the excess water, it would remain saturated too long and the soil would sour. Either don't water too deeply, or give it a full watering then set the pot on a towel or something to wick out the extra water.
