I was checking out a campsite for our Trail Life Troop this morning in NJ west along I-78 kind of near the Delaware River for those of you that know NJ. As we were walking along I noticed Trout Lily growing so I knew I should be looking for Ramps. Sure enough, I found multiple patches of Ramps growing. I was able to scrounge a paper bag from a BK from the back seat of one of the people I was with and harvested a single portion. I just finished eating them cooked along with about 20 cloves of my garlic. That along with a Liverwurst sandwich and a glass of Cab Sav. Good stuff. Now out to get the lawn mower going to mow my lawn. Beautiful spring day. Temps up around 70.
And, my hardy cacti are hardened off and enjoying full sun.
