Is this euphorbia done for?

Post by snyorega »

Does anyone know what's wrong with this plant?
I don't know its history, except that it was with several other common cactuses suffering from root rot, and everything was very root bound.

Is the plant salvageable? Perhaps by cutting off and rooting the green tips? Thanks for any advice.

hmmm, if it would be just corking, it would be fine, but there's brown patches up there as well. Is the brown / grey part still firm ? Or mushy ? Or just dried out and dead ?

I didn't know about corking - just looked it up, so thanks for that. Everything feels firm and solid actually. I'll repot and wait to see if it produces new growth in the spring.

ah yeah, I looked up some pictures of old euphorbias and the brown patches do occur there as well, so I think the plant's fine, just had a rough time ;)

If the roots are alive, it's probably fine.
