Heck Tony, anytime you want to see real snow your welcome to come and visit. I'll even let you make a snow angel in the frontyard _________________ Bill

Bill,
You better be careful where you make that angel or your wife maybe picking spines out of your backside.

sounds good, maybe with the caveat that you've voting on the best picture, not the biggest collection
Howabout the previous winner to come up with a new contest category (toot suite) |

Interesting thought. Almost be better to have the one with least votes come up with it. Kind of like the losing team gets first pick for new players.
Of course there are usually several with zero votes. _________________ All Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are Cacti |

my thoughts .........
competitions should include as many members as possible ............ this would rule out subjects like
cacti in the wild (excludes any country not in the america's )
cacti grown in the ground (excludes most of Europe)
images of rare genera (excludes most members)
a good subject should allow most members on most continents to look through their database of images to find a relevant image or go to their collection and take a suitable image to enter
just my thoughts ............... _________________ incurable cactoholic

I agree, but I was thinking about this 'in the wild' thing. If you said 'in it's natural habitat' instead then us old worlders would be able to offer picutres of culitvars, artificial hybrids etc (and M zeilmanniana in a garden centre ) since that is the only habitat they occurr in. |
