Unhappy snakeplants? I didn't even know that was possible!
The tips of the leaves on the snakeplants we have in our office are all turning brown. I'm not super familiar with them but I haven't had this problem before. We live in a humid environment and it's really difficult to keep mold from growing in the pots (if you have advice about how to stop that, pl...

Best time to seperate Sempervivum heuffelii?
Is there a season that's best for cutting up and propagating Sempervivum heuffelii?

Re: I'm IDing cacti again.
Never mind. It's Echinopsis subdenudata. Geez, I'm out of practice.

I'm IDing cacti again.
https://i.imgur.com/JdK189j.jpg I'm pretty sure this is Astrophytum myrostigma cv. onzuka. If I'm not mistaken, they can have anywhere from 4 to 6 ribs. We have all these that have five ribs and one single plant with four ribs. https://i.imgur.com/9f3L2fn.jpg My best guess for this is Astrophytum a...

What exactly are the light spots.
I would assume they have something to do with lack of light and/or corking, but somebody asked me about them yesterday and I honestly have never thought about it before.

Re: I think this might be a Turbinicarpus.
The areolas of spines made me assume it wasn't a Mammillaria, but you would almost definitely know better than I.

I'm guessing this is an E. horrida. Maybe a cultivar. I'm thinking maybe water it a little more often and partial shade, but y'all know a lot more than I do so I wanted to ask you. Please help me save my plant. This is my first succulent, and it is not doing well. When I got this plant, it was BEAUT...

Sedum rubrotinctum and air conditioning
My S. rubrotinctum really took off and has grown gigantic over the year that I've had it. Yesterday, I heard this noise like small things falling on the floor, and I couldn't figure out what it was, until I noticed that all the leaves were falling off my plant. I picked them up to so I can plant the...

Re: Grow light for an Opuntia microdasys
I got it off Baopals, which is kind of like an ebay specifically for expats who live in China. If it's a hunk of junk I'm decidedly unsurprised.

Re: Grow light for an Opuntia microdasys
So the grow light even at a close level didn't seem to be helping, and since it's spring, I decided to move the cactus to a window sill. It still looked pretty miserable and a lot of the older pads died. I repotted all the new 'pads' (they are so skinny they can barely be called that) and took it ou...

Re: Can this bamboo be saved?
Is there a brand of fungicide or something that I could look up? Or maybe a specific name of the chemical? I'm an American living in China and it's difficult for me to find stuff sometimes.
