Re: Pumice vs perlite

Depends on how important is it for hat you want to grow. I buy mine from ebay ("Horticultural Pumice"), and it's not very expensive. And then use it just when needed.

Re: Pumice vs perlite

We wash perlite to minimize the dust. It should always be moistened when using.
Pumice is favored by many because it is more porous than perlite. It has tiny little air pockets on it's surface. A way to add air or moisture to a mix. Also, something for root hairs to grab as they grow.

Re: NOT sick after all ... so what's it doing???

That's a lot of offsets at one time! I've had a Buddha's Temple that lost several leaves before sprouting offshoots. And another one that lost only a few before sprouting out. Obviously it loses leaves to make room for expansion through offshoots. No?

I'd be tempted to agree with sunburn. Keep it in bright shade, and see how it progresses.

Re: Need help to ID my new succulent.

It's called, Crassula "Buddha's Temple". Gets a pretty head of white flowers. Will grow longer and longer, with occasional offshoots. Regular succulent care. Bright light/partial shade. Water well, then let dry out before re-watering. Very little fertilizer.

Re: Identification

You can separate the plants. Just dig them out easy to not disturb anybody's roots too much. Put them in a pot of their own, combining any that look the same, if you wish. And Elie's right, there are Kalanchoes in there. The fuzzy one with orange/brown spots is Kalanchoe tomentosa (teddy bear kalanc...

Re: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE ... Not SURE if it is sick or not, but JIC ...

You say you see no insect symptoms, and this appears as a covering. You mention that your greenhouse is possibly more humid than this plant likes...could this coating be some kind of fungus, or virus? And that's why no crawlies or obvious insect infestation. Just a thought. I'm stumped, like everyon...
